Audio editing is going to be easier and faster than ever as Adobe has announced an intuitive new audio experience in Premiere Pro (beta). This announcement has come ahead of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival with an aim to provide faster editing in a simplified manner, saving experienced professionals time while enabling beginners to easily access required tools. 

With a snowballing craze for artificial intelligence, the innovations by Adobe in Premiere Pro also include the integration of AI-powered tools along with several enhanced editing features.  

Here’s a breakdown of all innovations Adobe is bringing in for efficient audio editing. 

What’s new in Premiere Pro?

Currently available in beta, Premiere Pro's new audio workflows provide users with everything they require to efficiently manage and enrich the quality of their sound while saving editors valuable time. The new features include:

• Interactive fade handles – Editors can create a variety of custom audio transitions faster than ever by using the interactive fade handles on clips in the timeline. They can simply drag clip handles to create audio fades. 
  
  
•  AI-powered essential Sound badge with audio category tagging – This AI feature will automatically identify and label clips with icons for music, dialogue, sound effects, or ambiance. Using this feature, editors will get access to the most relevant tools for each type of audio in a single click.
  
  
• Effect badges – The redesigned clip badges make it easy to discover which clips contain effects, easily add new effects, and alter effect settings. More contemporary and intelligent waveforms automatically resize as track height changes, while better clip colors make audio on the timeline simpler to view and work with.
  
  
•  AI-powered Enhance Speech tool –This groundbreaking AI-powered tool will help instantly remove unwanted sound or noise from the audio clip and improve the quality of poorly recorded dialogue.
