India to Host Biggest Startup Funding Festival ‘World Startup Convention’

Overview

India is all set to host one of the Biggest Startup Funding festivals- the World Startup Convention, from 14 January to 16 January 2023 at Unitech Golf and Country Club in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. This convention will mark the celebration of National Startup Day on 16th January, as announced by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in January this year.

 

India has witnessed tremendous growth over the recent past, and it is now the fastest-growing and third-largest startup ecosystem in the world. In order to help the startup culture spread better across India, PM Modi declared January 16 to be celebrated as National Startup Day every year. World Startup Convention 2023 will be the best opportunity to recognize the significant contributions that entrepreneurs have made toward strengthening the Indian economy. This massive event aims to mobilize ₹1 lakh Cr investment in the Indian startup ecosystem.

 

Delegates from 50 countries will participate in this mega startup festival. It will bring leading entrepreneurs, founders, creators, investors, agencies, marketers, retailers, influencers, designers, students, explorers, franchises, mentors, incubators, accelerators, service providers, investment bankers, policy-makers, advisors, etc., from various sectors under one roof. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is to inaugurate the event while other invited dignitaries include Sheikh Hamdan (Crown Prince of Dubai), Gautam Adani (Founder & Chairman of Adani Group), Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla Motors), Masayoshi Son (CEO of SoftBank) and many more.

 

Among the key policy makers, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister of UP Yogi Adityanath, are said to be joining the convention. It is worth noting that the Yogi Adityanath government in its budget for the year 2022-23, has announced to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in various fields among the youth under their new UP Startup Policy-2020. For this, a target has been set to establish 100 incubators and 10,000 startups in 5 years.  

 

Additionally, 2500 Angel Networks, 30,000 Startups representing more than 50 countries, 1500 Venture Capitalists, and 9000 Angel Investors representing more than 600 companies will be a significant part of the World Startup Convention. The attendees will get to avail numerous benefits from being part of this event. Not only they will have the opportunity to listen to the valuable insights from the leading pioneers from various sectors, but they can also build a strong business network at the event. This event will provide attendees with a platform to fundraise by pitching their startup idea to leading Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, etc., from around the globe.
